Nogrid pointsBlow release 4.2.0
April 2024
The release of NOGRID pointsBlow 4.2.0 is available now.
This is new:
-
In case report the heat conductivity was documented wrong.
-
HTML Case Report has only 1 page, the 2nd page was missing. When blank temperature profile is defined, model image is only partially captured.
- Enabling/Disabling the Mold tab corrected (Mold tab was disabled if Compute blow mold was changed from enabled to disabled even Compute blank mold was enabled).
- The PLUG position changes the temperature curve x-values within the Material Tab-Blank Mold.
- Improved wall viscosity treatment
In previous releases the viscosity at walls was cut off if it was too high. For the Hybrid-P1 model in the transition area from free surface to a wall the free surface smoothing was used for the walls, but this smoothing algorithm especially at cold walls results in a unrealistic viscosity increase in the inner fluid. For this reason we've implemented an improved smoothing algorithm for the viscosity at walls. - Periodic heat loads or cyclic heating of molds are available now. Starting with a cold or preheated mold, the temperature increases over time with the period of the process until a steady-state temperature distribution is established within the mold.
Figure A: The User can specify the number of heating loops and the accuracy
Figure B: Intermediate state: Current loop number is 11 and accuracy reached is 76 %. - Nogrid pointsBlow application can be started within a terminal. Without any parameters a blank GUI is started.
Usage:
pointsBlow.exe [option] [projectFileName]
projectFileName: read the project with name projectFileName
-h, --help: displays this text
-u, --update: reads the project, updates the solver scripts and return, projectFileName is required
-c, --csv: reads the project, saves the final results contour csv files and return, projectFileName and final results are required - The solver of NOGRID pointsblow can now be started directly using following parameters within a terminal:
-h displays the help
-m=<file> name of model input file
-n=<file> name of numeric input file
-l checks and displays the license usage information
-s displays host name and port number of the license server
-v displays the version number - The position of the equation editor dialog is close to the parent widget now (in previous release the dialog appears in the middle of the screen)
- If distance blow is active the corresponding IS machine times are disabled
- The User file and the Settings file is available as an ASCII file if a corresponding license is valid.
- In addition to the velocity its components vx, vy and vz are saved and available within the GUI.
